How Does Kulpa Compare?
Supervisor Brian Kulpa and the town board members have tried every which way to excuse their insane 11.4% property tax increase on families in one year alone without transparent warning.
Kulpa has tried to blame inflation, covid, labor, backfilling police at cheaper salaries, etc.
However the facts don’t lie or dance. Compared to other nearby towns, that would face the same economic conditions and some with less commercial or retail revenue to offset, they have not had anywhere near the massive tax hikes or 3 overrides of the NYS tax cap.
Since 2018, the overall property tax levy (over the cap starting point) is a 36.2% increase. That impacts families, minorities, single parents, students, unions, etc.
Why is this happening? Supervisor Kulpa is wasting money on unnecessary resume building projects to live out his failed urban planner/developer fantasy, using your money instead as funding for experimental development of a town into a city like Charlotte.
